A brief history

Over the past 15 years, Paul and Jenny Simpson – owners of Simpson Estate – have built their winery inspired by the grand houses of Bordeaux and Burgundy. With a passion for wine instilled by his father Brian – a recognized wine educator – Paul chose the Simpson Estate vineyard for its exceptional terroir and ability to produce outstanding fruit.

Respecting the importance of location, and with a dedication to doing even the smallest things with precision, Paul and Jenny have assembled a likeminded, award-winning team to produce wines of the highest international standards. Winemaker Clive Otto is a former Australian Winemaker of the Year, and the vineyard is tended by viticulturists Jim Campbell-Clause and Colin Bell, the 2018 ASVO Viticulturist of the Year.

The Simpson Estate logo is the Simpson family crest, the origin of which dates back to sixteenth century Britain.
