Plumm dark chocolate and berries with smoky hints

Palate

Plum and dark chocolate with mouth-filling, dusty tannins and a pleasantly persistent finish.

Growing Conditions

The 2010 vintage was distinctively of 2 parts – a warmer than average and dry start, preceded by good winter and spring rains, and followed by cooler conditions in March, providing a good finish for red varieties.

Winemaking

Produced in traditional open pot fermenters, with a portion afforded extended maceration on skins post fermentation and matured in French oak barriques for 20 months – an elegantly structured wine with medium to long term cellaring potential.

Deep purple with violet hues
