A brief history

Peccavi Estate is a small boutique vineyard located in the ‘sweet spot’ sub-region of the Yallingup ridge in the north of the Margaret River region, WA.

Peccavi is one of the very first vineyards in Australia to have the same new clones being used by the greatest Estates of Bordeaux. During the hot growing period, our viticulture practices encourage vine roots to drive deep, past loamy topsoils down to the sub-strata of ancient granite in search of nutrients and water. This process ultimately concentrates flavour in the fruit and adds natural mineral characters to our finished wines.

Our uncompromising approach to all aspects of wine-growing has earned Peccavi a high recognition for producing outstanding quality fruit. Our grapes are so desirable that several of Margaret River’s top producers purchase any surplus fruit that we don’t use for making our Estate wines.

Wines bearing the 'Peccavi' label are from 100% estate grown fruit, hand harvested, often in the cool of the night, from specific parcels within the blocks of vineyards, making the production of these wines limited by the individual vineyard sites. We hand sort to select only the best grapes to craft our award-winning Peccavi wines, applying traditional methods that are sustainable and using only the finest French oak.

Our 'No Regrets' range is also produced using 100% Peccavi estate grown fruit and is handcrafted to the same high standards.

Peccavi Estate is certified sustainable and is part of Sustainable Wine Growing Australia (SWA).

Meet The Team

  • Bruce Dukes

Bruce, a west Australian native, has enjoyed three decades of valuable winegrowing experience, shared between iconic producers in the Napa Valley and Margaret River. His winemaking philosophy is best described by wine expert Professor Steven Kolpan who noted in his book ‘A Sense of Place’ that, “Bruce Dukes articulates the art and science of winemaking with elegance and ease. Bruce knows that the finest wines are made vine by vine, berry by berry…”

Bruce describes his training in Agronomy at University of Western Australia, and a Master’s Degree from the University of California, Davis, as the foundations of his approaches in sustainable winegrowing. “However, the fun part is layering in passion, artistic and intuitive flair”.
