Nose
Lifted aromas of blue fruits, black cherry, blackberry, vanilla bean and dark spice.
Palate
A mid-weighted wine with layers of detail – blue and black fruits upon wooded herbs and roasted meats. Lifted spice – star anise & white pepper overlay the structure and perfume of 30% whole bunches during ferment – lavender, rosemary and orange peel. Chocolate, glossy tannins round out the finish resulting in a wine at once elegant, complex and vital.
Winemaking
15 months maturation in a combination of 40% new and balance 2nd and 3rd use French oak barriques & puncheons.
Aging
Suitably fresh, vibrant and balanced to allow for immediate consumption this wine has all the necessary components to evolve gracefully over the next 8-10 years.
Appearance
Rich, ruby red with purple tints.
