Growing Conditions
An outstanding vintage. The season commenced with a wet start to June when rainfall was 30% above average. From this point onwards the months dried to below average rainfall & maximum temperatures crept up above the long-term averages. Lower yields, but very high quality
Harvest
Hand-picked from the property off a single block (block 15) on 11th March 2020 at a Baumé of 13.1° Bé. The Karridale vineyard is sustainably famed following organic principles
Bottling
The wine was bottled on 11th August 2020
Winemaking
100% whole-bunch fermentation with carbonic maceration for 14 days. The fruit was then destemmed & fermented on skins for six days. Unfined, unfiltered & vegan friendly
Aging
The wine was matured for four months in neutral puncheons.
