Growing Conditions
A challenging vintage due to rain & disease. However, the viticulture team was able to deal very effectively with each problem, through meticulous canopy management & judicious use of organically approved sprays, meaning quality remained strong
Harvest
90% Malbec hand-picked at 12.8° Bé and 10% Shiraz hand-picked in two passes on 26th & 30th March 2021. The Karridale vineyard is sustainably famed following organic principles
Bottling
The wine was bottled on 10th August 2021
Winemaking
100% whole-bunch-fermentation with carbonic maceration for 14 days, no additions, wild yeast ferment. The fruit was then destemmed & fermented on skins in an open fermenter for six days. Pressed and settled in tank with no time on oak. Unfined, lightly filtered & bottled
