Nose

The nose has a great depth of fruit aroma combined with complex oak characters.

Palate

The palate has rich Cabernet flavour, with fresh acidity and a firm tannin finish. In summary, the 1983 is the best Cabernet Sauvignon we have so far produced, with tremendous power of fruit and fine structure. It has, therefore, early drinking appeal, but is also an excellent cellaring prospect.

Growing Conditions

The 1983 vintage provided a warm, consistent growing season and the vines were able to carry the crop to a high level of ripeness, while maintaining good acidity. This has produced a wine with strong fruit characters, reminiscent of vintages like 1976 and 1977.
