Nose

The nose is rich and intricate showing a lively, attractive display of red cherries, blackberries, black olive and lifted cassis upfront. A hint of hazelnut meal, cinnamon, and cedar oak spice adds an added aspect of complexity.

Palate

Medium to full bodied, this wine displays elegant red cherry and blackcurrant flavours with a dark chocolate, savoury edge. The opulent, elegant, soft tannin structure is in perfect balance with the fruit, giving great length.

Growing Conditions

The 2015/16 growing season was characterised by moderate rainfall in winter with mild/warm conditions followed by a dry and warm spring. Vine growth was rapid throughout the season and most phenological markers were reached ahead of expectations due to warm temperatures and a dry soil profile. Summer was typically warm/hot with consistently cool night-time temperatures and a major rainfall event mid-January around veraison.
