Nose
Intense aromas of blackcurrent, plum, brown sugar, clove, nutmeg and malt are well integrated with the fine brandy used in the fortification
Palate
A small taste is all that is required to obtain the rich intensity of the nectar, chocolate, dark fruitcake and brandy overtones. The mid palate is surprisingly dry with spicy notes. The finish is unique with powerful flavours and soft sweetness
Harvest
hand picking .
Winemaking
Fermentation was allowed to proceed in the winery, until we decided to stop fermentation by the addition of 10 year old brandy spirit. Maturation in old oak barrels softened the tannins and allowed the spirit to integrate into the wine.
Aging
Drink now or cellar for 20+ years.
Appearance
Deep intense red.
