Nose
The nose shows an array of red-fruit aromas – redcurrant, plum and boysenberry, with high notes of five-spice, chocolate and roasting herbs.
Palate
The palate unfolds in layers of red fruits, savoury herbs, dark chocolate and oak spice. A soft and juicy mid-palate is supported by a framework of powder fine tannins which add structure and length.
Winemaking
18 months maturation in a combination of 15% new and 85% seasoned French oak barriques from a selection of renowned Bordeaux cooperages.
Aging
This finely structured wine is drinking well now, but will continue to evolve over the next 8-10 years.
Appearance
Dark crimson red with black tints.
