Nose

Vibrant aromatics of ripe stone fruits, toasted nuts, grapefruit, burnt butter and flint.

Palate

A full-flavoured, textured, creamy palate with softness, richness and length. The wine shows good fruit weight – yellow peach, fig, grapefruit and complexity of flavour – roast hazelnut, oyster shell, toast, yet with good acid line to ensure lightness of foot and freshness of finish.

Growing Conditions

2018 – a classic Margaret River vintage, characterised by a beautifully warm and dry ripening period, moderated by afternoon sea breezes and cool, clear nights. Fruit was picked in superb condition at optimal ripeness with full flavours and balanced acidity.

Winemaking

Fruit was handpicked and whole-bunch pressed straight to barrel with full solids for natural ferment by wild yeast. Partial malolactic fermentation and judicious lees stirring during maturation built palate weight, texture and complexity. Blended via barrel selection, the wine was then heat and cold stabilised with minimal fining and filtered prior to bottling end of 2018.
