Nose

The grapes were ripened to perfection resulting in wondeful aromas of black cherry, blackcurrant, plum, ripe raspberry and a hint of liquorice while the seamlessly integrated oak contributes to subtle influences of dark chocolate, salted caramel, cedar and nutmeg.

Palate

The palate is supple and elegant yet with such depth of fruit and silky tannins

Growing Conditions

The 2013 vintage saw a long run of perfect autumn days providing slow steady ripening conditions which are ideal for tannin and flavour development in Cabernet Sauvignon. The Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec, and Petit Verdot at Higher Plane also responded well to the favourable weather conditions and add a lovely fragrance and juicy mid palate to the resulting blend.

Winemaking

Cold soak for 4 days, hand plunged, 33 days on skins. MLF in barrel. 18 months in barriques with 45% new French oak.
