Nose

Freshly cut pear & red apple aromas; a dash of paprika spice with saline notes

Palate

Skin contact during fermentation has lent textural elements & complexity to the generous & assertive Nashi pear flavours, that are neatly framed by the wine’s phenolic structure & refreshing acidity

Growing Conditions

A wet winter & spring impacted fruit set, leading to reduced yields. Yet, 2022 was an outstanding vintage. Warm, dry conditions in summer & autumn provided exceptional growing & ripening conditions. Bird pressure was greatly reduced due to strong flowering of native flora. Remarkable quality

Harvest

Picked from two blocks in three passes on 17th, 19th & 25th March at 12.1°Bé

Bottling

Bottled on 7th November 2022

Winemaking

The fruit was chilled & fermented on skins for 7 days to add both texture & complexity. The ferment was pressed off at 5°Bé, then racked to barrel to complete fermentation in neutral French oak.

Wine spent a further 5 months in neutral French oak

Silvery green in colour
