St Johns Wine
A brief history
St Johns Wine’s first vineyard was established in 1997 in the Blackwood Valley wine region of Western Australia. It is a considerable planting of 60 hectares which places us as the largest grower in the region. We are blessed to have fruits of such intensity and quality providing the foundation fruit for our iconic wines in our Blackwood and Round Puzzle range. The Blackwood Valley wine region is a highly awarded wine region pioneered in the 1800s, with the earliest wine grape plantings in 1978. The regions climate is ideally suited to bold reds grown in deep duplex gravelly soils.
Our second vineyard of 40 hectares located in the northern heartland of the Margaret River Wine Region was acquired in 1998. Varieties planted are all on original rootstock with the key French varieties of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Chardonnay, Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc providing the finest fruit for our St Johns Brook, Round Puzzle and Crush range of wines.
