Nose

A complex display of bright red cherry, plum, sweet vanilla and clove
characters upfront, subtle mint, sweet brazil nut, cinnamon oak spice
and savoury dried herbs adds an extra depth of intricacy.

Palate

Medium to full bodied wine with elegant, well integrated red berry fruit
flavours filling the palate upfront followed by a soft, velvety tannin
structure. Juicy red berry fruit flavours persist endlessly with a hint of
dark chocolate on the finish.

Growing Conditions

The 2013/14 season started with a very wet but mild Winter which led
to a slightly earlier than usual budburst. Spring conditions were
favourable and the Summer ripening period was mild with very few
heatwave events. The canopies of the Cabernet vines were in excellent
condition to allow fruit to ‘hang’ on the vines and develop ideal
phenolic and flavour ripeness. Although mild, we experienced a perfect
fruit ripening period resulting in a shorter than usual Vintage 2014.

Winemaking

The fruit was gently machined harvested and processed into red
fermenters where they are tenderly pumped over 3 times a day during
fermentation to maximize colour extraction. When fermentation was
complete, the wine was left on skins for an additional 7 days to develop
some extra complexity before being transferred to a selection of fine
French barriques and matured for 15 months.

Appearance

Deep dark red with a slight purple edge.
