Nose

A complex display of fine fruit and rich dark berry characters entice
the senses, while more subtle aromas of violets, elegant oak spice
and dried herbs display gracefully in the background.

Palate

Luscious, rich rounded mouth-watering flavours fill the palate
upfront followed by a succulent, fleshy but firm tannin structure.
This is complimented with a hint of toasty cinnamon and spicy oak
on the mid palate. Red berry and juicy fruit flavours persist
endlessly and effortlessly delivering an incredible sense of
satisfaction.

Growing Conditions

Excellent canopy health was the result of good finishing winter
rains with moderate spring conditions. The summer ripening
period was dry and warm with some above average temperature in
late January prompting an early start to harvest. With cooling
weather in early February, the fruit ripened slower to a more
typical pattern resulting in a steady but long vintage. The fine
weather continued through to mid-April when harvest completed
for reds.

Winemaking

The fruit was gently machine harvested and processed into red
fermenters where they are tenderly pumped over three times a day
during fermentation to maximize colour extraction. When
fermentation was complete, the wine was left on skins for an
additional 7 days to develop some extra complexity before being
transferred to a selection of fine French barriques and matured for
18 months.

Appearance

Deep crimson red with a slight purple edge.
