Nose

To lifted aromas of blueberry, mulberry, cherry, black currant/cassis along with subtle oak characters of smoky vanilla, spice and chocolate.

Palate

The palate is juicy with mixed berry fruit flavours and fleshy texture with balanced fine tannins and a bright crisp finish.

Growing Conditions

Located north of Margaret River township, Victory Point vineyard was established in 1998 by the Berson family to create premium wines. The totally unirrigated vines have been hand nurtured through the establishing years and are now producing extremely high quality fruit which truly reflects the vintage and site conditions each year. Victory Point is rated a 5 Star producer by James Halliday Australian Wine Companion.


Winemaking

On delivery to the winery the whole bunches are destemed in individual batches to open fermenters. The fruit spent 27 days on skins before being pressed and racked to barrel. French oak barrels were used, 50% of which were new. The wine was aged in barrel for 12 months before extensive blending trials were undertaken to determine the composition for the 2012 vintage.The final blend is made up of 40% Cabernet Franc, 31% Malbec, 23% Cabernet Sauvignon 6% Petit Verdot. The wine was bottled in August, 2013 and sealed with screwcap closures.
