Growing Conditions

Margaret River had the precise opposite to the weather of the eastern states:
very
warm (the hottest March on record) and dry, resulting in a very early
vintage but of
very high quality producing red wines that are rich in
flavour
while showing beautiful integration and approachability.

Harvest

Hand picked.

Winemaking

The berries
are cold soaked, gently plunged and temperature
controlled in 4 tonne parcels in open fermenters for gentle and full
extraction. The wine is matured in 100% French oak barriques
(40% new)
for 2 years, then further stored in our underground climate controlled cellar
for
2
years
before release. This is
a limited release and the second
Ashbrook
Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon following in the footsteps of the highly
acclaimed and successful 2010
Reserve.
