Nose
Pronounced pink grapefruit, guava, passionfruit and freshly cut nettle.
Subtle white flower spice adds to an intensely vibrant and powerful aroma.
Palate
Juicy, refreshing and full of crisp citrusy tang. The Semillon gives a
lively melon and textural mouthfeel complementing the pungent, mineral rich
gooseberry flavours of Sauvignon blanc. This SSB finishes long and bright with
a lingering core of fruit.
Growing Conditions
2014 was a year of records. Following a record winter
rainfall there was a delayed start to spring with strong early winds. This
affected some of the earlier varieties on exposed sites. With good soil profiles
and some warm weather, the vines finally took off with exceptional growth in
the early months. A record summer dry spell ensured very little disease in the
latter half of the growing season.
