Nose
Engaging aromas of blueberry, blackberry, black cherry, raspberry & plum, with background notes of violet, vanilla biscuit & dark chocolate.
Palate
The medium-bodied palate is juicy, smooth yet textural, & overflowing with rich fruit flavours. Crunchy acidity, powdery fine tannins mold the flavours into a long satisfying finish.
Growing Conditions
In 2015 from March the autumn weather patterns provided cool over night temperature, this effectively extended the ripening period for red wine varieties giving them more time to enhance fruit development flavour profiles without excessive sugar spikes. The resultant wines show bright fruit flavours and particularly well resolved tannin profiles. Dry grown, single vineyard origin.
Harvest
Hand-picked on the 13th March 2015 at a Baumé of 12.8 Be°, yielding 5t/Ha
Winemaking
Open fermented, hand-plunged 3 times a day and pressed after 8 days on skins. MLF in barrel
Aging
14 Months in French barriques of which 28% were new
