Nose
The intense fruit aromas jump out of the glass, abundant with plums, cherries and mulberries.
Followed by subtle hints of star anise, with a whole bunch lift and a delicate touch of spice.
Palate
The wine is medium bodied with flavours of plum, mulberry and
redcurrant. The tannins are supple and balanced but drive the
wine through your palate. The whole bunch inclusion helps to add
complexity and spice leaving you with an intense mouth-filling and
salivating finish
Growing Conditions
A blend of Stella Bella’s southern Margaret River vineyards. A multiple personality wine, it represents the uniqueness of each vineyard site while maintaining a defined Stella Bella style.
A wet December with a very heavy rainfall event (over 100mm) event at veraison provided perfect moisture in the soil for our Shiraz vineyards. Dry conditions from January through until mid-April resulted in another classic vintage in all our Southern Margaret River vineyards.
Winemaking
Each small batch was vinified separately with 10% whole bunch fermented to accentuate the spice and delicious fruit from southern Margaret River. Malolactic fermentation was conducted in tank prior to barrel maturation in a mix of new and old French barriques for a period of 8 months.
