Growing Conditions

Sourced from our 30+ year old dry grown vines most of our Merlot is blended into the Single Vineyard Cabernet Merlot, however by popular demand, we have begun keeping a little aside each year to release as our Limited Release Merlot.


The Merlot grapes used in this wine were picked on the estate on February 28, 2015 at a Baumé of 12.1°.


They were plunged in open fermenters for several days, followed by several more in stainless steel tanks for malolactic fermentation. French oak barriques were used for their maturation over a nineteen month period. Prior to bottling 12% Cabernet Sauvignon was blended in to the final wine, 122 cases were bottled in December 2016.
