Nose

The bouquet is of black berry fruits, liquorice, bay leaf & cedar

Palate

Full-bodied & slightly savoury in the mouth. The currant & berry flavours have density & intensity, yet there’s tension in the structure with fine dusty
tannins & lingering red fruits on the long finish.

Growing Conditions

2016 was a warm vintage resulting in terrific intensity and depth of ripe fruit aromas A single vineyard blend made with a base of old vine Cabernet and complemented and expanded by the other Bordeaux varieties of Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot. This Margaret River blend is made to showcase the attributes each of these varieties to make a medium bodied, wine displaying an array of fruit characters with flesh, depth and complexity.

Harvest

Hand-picked in six batches from 13th to 29th March 2016 at a Baume between 12.8 to 14.4 Be°

Bottling

The wine was bottled on 29th January 2018

Winemaking

Cold soak for 4 days, then fermented in mix of hand-plunged open fermenters and pumped over closed fermenters. 14 to 21 days on skins depending upon variety. MLF in barrel

Aging

18 months in French barriques, a third of which were new
