Growing Conditions

2019 was a cool vintage where picking was approximately three weeks later than the long-term average. A labour-intensive season, which, despite the challenges of birds & disease, has produced some superb wines

Sauvignon Blanc was hand-picked from our Karridale property on 16th March at 11.6°Bé. Semillon was picked from our original Wilyabrup vines on 5th March at 11.1°Bé, & also from our Metricup vineyard on 22nd March at 11.3°Bé. Each site is sustainably farmed following organic principles

The wine was bottled on 28th January 2020

A blend of Sauvignon Blanc (80%) & Semillon (20%) that was pressed straight to barrel. The Sauvignon Blanc was whole-bunch pressed & underwent a wild yeast fermentation. The Semillon component was destemmed & inoculated.

The wine was aged for nine months in French barriques of which 20% were new,
