Nose

The bouquet is lifted & intense. Ripe mulberry & cassis fruit bursts from the glass, with underlying notes of cocoa powder, graphite, & hints of toasted spices

Palate

An inky density pervades the palate, typical of the season, with layers of blackberry, plum & amaro herbs. The long palate is framed by fine gravelly tannins & a coal dust feel on the finish.

Growing Conditions

2024 started early, was both dry & warm with no heat spikes or issue with either disease or bird pressure. Lack of spring rains meant yields were moderate resulting in an outstanding year for the best parcels of Malbec

Harvest

The first parcel was hand-picked on 19th February from block 9 on the Wilyabrup vineyard at 13.5° Bé & put through carbonic maceration. A further pick was done on 29th February with the grapes at 14° Bé

Bottling

Bottled November 2025
