Growing Conditions

Good Spring rains in 2013 charged our dry grown vineyard soils, & temperatures were very constant - mild to warm with no extremes. We experienced neither disease nor bird pressure, & the weather was ideal resulting in an excellent vintage.

Sourced entirely from the original estate 1973 plantings, the fruit was harvested by hand in three passes from 6th-16th March at between 13.3 – 14.0 Be°, and yielding just 3.5 tonnes / Ha

Following de-stemming & sorting, the grapes were cold-soaked for four days prior to fermentation, and left 13-18 days on skins.

Following barrel maturation for 18 months in French hogsheads (of which 35% were new), individual barrels were selected to create the final blend.
