Nose

Fresh citrus blossom, apple, pear, gooseberry, lemon sherbet & melon with a suggestion of crushed herbs & beeswax

Palate

Light to medium-bodied with a gorgeously rounded, textural mouthfeel. A riper expression showing white peach, passionfruit, lime & grapefruit flavours with subtle hints of fennel & salinity. Beautifully balanced. Lingering, dry, zesty, citrus finish

Growing Conditions

A wet winter & spring impacted fruit set, leading to reduced yields. Yet, 2022 was an outstanding vintage. Warm, dry conditions in summer & autumn provided exceptional growing & ripening conditions. Bird pressure was greatly reduced due to strong flowering of native flora. Remarkable quality

Harvest

The Semillon was picked between 22nd February - 10th March, the Sauvignon Blanc was picked between 1st - 9th March. The Semillon comes from our two Wilyabrup vineyards whilst the Sauvignon Blanc is grown on our Karridale vineyard to the south. Both vineyards are sustainably farmed following organic principles

Bottling

The wine was bottled on 22nd September 2022

Winemaking

A blend of Semillon (60%) & Sauvignon Blanc (40%). 98% was fermented in stainless steel tanks & 2% (all Sauvignon Blanc) fermented in barrel. The tank portion was cold-fermented to aid with both flavour & freshness, the barrel component was whole-bunch pressed & wild-fermented. Both components were stirred on lees to help build texture

Appearance

Star bright, pale straw
