Nose

The nose shows an exotic mix of berries, spice and floral aromas.

Palate

The palate is silky smooth with controlled concentration of fruit flavours, with refreshing raspberry acidity and fine chalky tannin ensuring palate length and longevity.

Growing Conditions

Another excellent Cabernet vintage. A mild wet spring was followed by warmer & drier conditions than in 2009 which continued throughout summer, tapering off and becoming cooler in March retaining perfume

Harvest

Hand-picked between 1st - 16th April 2010 between 13.5 - 14.5 Bé° & delivered to the winery in under an hour. Cabernet yielded only 4.9t/Ha

Winemaking

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon 91%, Cabernet Franc 3%, Malbec 2%, & Petit Verdot 2% which were selectively picked, then sorted for optimum quality. Cold-soaked for five days, then pumped over for extraction & pressed off after a further 10 - 30 on skins.

Aging

Matured for 18 months in French barriques of which 50% were new
